The foundations of the Platin Professional brand were laid with an idea that emerged in 1959.
Our founder, Haydar Alkoç, was born in 1950 in the Turkish village of Vrapçişte in Yugoslavia and started his career as a hairdresser when he was only 9 years old.
After working in Istanbul until the age of 18, he went to Vienna, Austria to gain international experience for 2 years. When he returned to his homeland, Turkey, at the age of 20, Haydar Alkoç, who, in addition to his profession as a hairdresser, also turned to hair import and export, laid the foundations of a strong brand by being deemed worthy of over 200 awards at home and abroad.
He sold tons of Turkish human hair to Italy, Germany, the United States and Israel; he also served as the President of the Istanbul Chamber of Hairdressers.
He has always played an active role in the development of hairdressing in Türkiye, has trained hundreds of hairdressers for the sector and continues to do so.
In 2005, he handed over the Platin Peruk brand and management to his son Onur ALKOÇ, whom he calls his greatest work.

My name is Onur Alkoç, and I took my first step into the hairdressing profession in 1995. I learned this craft from my father and master, Haydar Alkoç. Besides my expertise in professional women’s hairdressing, I also have formal education in accounting.
In 2010, I took over Platin Peruk from my father and restructured the brand under the name “Platin Professional.” During the 14 years under my management, we successfully expanded our business, exporting hair and hair products to 36 countries and establishing a total of 16 branches along with 2 production facilities. One of our factories focuses exclusively on hair products, while the other specializes in cosmetics manufacturing. This has positioned us as one of the few global brands capable of producing both hair and cosmetic products in-house. Today, I lead a team of 240 professionals, continuing this journey alongside my family.
As a husband and father of two children, I am proud to carry forward the passion for this profession inherited from my father, continually advancing a brand dedicated to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
